A Word from Wade

Wade Burleson

Dear Church Family,

Rachelle’s and My Special Guest Today ... is my niece, Dara Austin. My sister Cherri, and her daughter, Dara, are two of my favorite people. Dara will be having surgery on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Both of her legs will be amputated. Dara has not had use of her legs from birth, and due to bed sores and wound care, Dara has made the decision - on doctor’s advice - to have her legs removed. Every Sunday Dara watches Emmanuel Enid online, and the request she had of her mother when the decision was made to do the surgery was to “go to Enid and be at Emmanuel” prior to the surgery. We welcome Dara and Cherri, and Dara, our prayers will be with you.

Due to Your Generosity to Emmanuel - we have a brand new soundboard that we’ve installed that enhances our abilities in terms of production. Thanks to Brian Sallee, our Director of Production/Communications, for his expertise in getting this new board installed. ALSO, Brian and Michael are working on a solution for a couple of dead spots in our auditorium - (front sections on the wings, and in the choir loft). We are very blessed to have Brian Sallee on staff, and I believe you will soon see a noticeable difference in sound, particularly if you are seated in those few spots where the levels are not right.

Guests, we are delighted you have chosen to worship with us today. Many of our members are out of town due to FALL BREAK, but we are excited you are here. After the service, please come to the foyer if you have any questions about our community groups and ministry.

In His Grace,

Church Family,

I’m excited about a special opportunity we have coming up this weekend for our worship ministry! My friend Dwayne Moore, author of the bestselling Bible study on worship “Pure Praise” (a study our whole worship ministry has been going through the last 5 weeks) will be here for an appreciation dinner Friday evening at 6 pm in the HUB and a ReNEW regional worship conference on Saturday from 9 am - 4 pm. We are praying that many of our worship ministry volunteers from all 3 services will be able to attend this weekend. Join us in praying that other churches from the Northwest Oklahoma area will also be able to attend the conference on the 28th as well. I know for all that participate, it will be an encouraging and special time together. If you are interested in finding out more information, visit the website at http://www.emmanuelenid.org/WorshipConference

412 Worship Team

"Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire."

- Hebrews 12:28-29 (NLT)

On Wednesday evenings, up in the Connect Space, we have what we call 412 for our high school and middle school students. 412 is a time for our youth to come together for fellowship, discussion, and worship. I view worship as a crucial part of our relationship with God. Worship to God is more than just singing songs, but at 412 we take the time to come together and sing praises to God. Wednesday evenings is a time where our youth are leading each other to the heart of the gospel and truth.

My vision for our Youth Worship team is for it to be entirely student-led and run. Currently, we have about 9-10 students involved with our team. If you know a student who can sing, play an instrument, or who is interested in learning more about the tech side of worship, please let me know. My email address is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. I would love nothing more than to step back and watch our students lead each other in genuine worship to our Lord.

Parents!

Your children are at the age where they may not have a lot of money, but they do have some. They are learning how to use it. This is a perfect opportunity for us as parents to set the foundation of stewardship. Teaching them to use the money they have is a way that honors God. We will be walking through the principles of giving, saving, and spending. Each time they have money they will know where to put this money wisely. This month all children's offering is going towards Operation Christmas Child. Paul shares with us in 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 each of us should give where our hearts lead us and cheerfully. Let's encourage each other and our children to look at our money through the eyes of God. I know that by this technique our giving will reflect our hearts and how we take care of what God has given to us.

Emmanuel Enid Family,

I wanted to remind you about our World Mission Offering that is taking place until the end of November. Our goal for the offering is $75,000, and we have received $28,000 towards that goal. We are supporting YWAM, Hosanna missions in Niger, the Lottie Moon Christmas offering, and our church’s mission points in Guatemala and Poland. We appreciate your prayers and support for these missions and look forward to how God is going to use us as a church in the future to reach people with the Gospel.

Hi Ladies,

We’ve been learning so much through our study of Daniel this Fall. I’d like to share a little with you.

“Cyrus the Great freed the captives of Babylon, but until further notice, you and I are still here. We remain exiles, chosen like Daniel to influence our overindulged, self-absorbed culture for the kingdom of God. We, as believers in Christ, may feel like a small handful amid a scornful population, but Daniel and his friends were four in the midst of thousands. Our path to success is theirs; uncompromising resolve in big and small things.”

My prayer for all of us is that we obey God in the small and the big things of life. He is Faithful and True to His Word!

Men!

In order to lead your team, you must get to the heart before you reach for the hand. Leaders cannot expect followers to make a deeper commitment than the ones they make. Set the bar high, get out in front and watch people follow.

October is Production Ministry month here at Emmanuel. If you have ever had any interest or questions about what we do on the production side of things, come see us in the lobby between services. We have a table set up where you can try your hand at mixing sound and running graphics!

We are always looking for dedicated volunteers. If you want to get plugged into serving, we have open spots to run sound, lights, graphics, and cameras!

Emmanuel Christian School

Dr. Stephen Glazier

Grandparent’s Day

On October 27th, Emmanuel Christian School will host our annual Grandparent’s Day program. It is our hope it will be a day for several generations to spend time with each other making memories. Most importantly, it is our desire for this to be a special day of remembrance, to look back and tell the story of the faithfulness of our God.

In the thirteenth chapter of Proverbs, we are told: “A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous”. The principal of the proverb is that the wise or good person can leave a legacy that extends well beyond their death, and that lasts for generations. Grandparents, the most precious thing you can leave your grandchildren is a knowledge and certainty of salvation through the blood of Christ.

It is our prayer that you will take time to share, to share the faithfulness of God through Christ Jesus during the upcoming Grandparent’s Day.

Celebrate Recovery

We all have something to work through!

Celebrate Recovery (CR) provides a meaningful way for people to come together and share in their struggles with "hurts, habits, and hang-ups." CR meets on Thursday evenings beginning at 5:15 for an optional fellowship meal time followed by a large group time of worship, teaching, and sharing at 6:00. After the large group worship, we separate into “Open Share Groups” which are gender and issue specific support groups, and a “Newcomers Group” for individuals who are new to CR to help them understand how the program works.

Come and let us celebrate recovery together!
