Ephesians 2:4-7 (English-KJV)

4. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5. Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6. And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7. That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

1. The Plan of God in Saving Us... (v. 4)
   "But God..." is the gospel in a nutshell
   1. The word "but" is a conjunction...which tells us the story is not over
   2. The word "but" speaks of a contrast...which kindles in us some hope
   3. The word "God" points us to hope...which is found outside of ourselves
   4. The word "God" gives us assurance...that the hope we speak of is a certainty
2. The Power of God in Saving Us... (vs. 4-6)
   1. He loves us . . . with a powerful love
      "His great love . . ." (v. 4) Why is it great?
      "Even when we were dead in sins"
   2. He quickens us . . .
      Quicken means to "regenerate" or impart life
   3. He raises us.... to new lives as citizens of heaven
      "He hath delivered us from the power of darkness and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son."Colossians 1:13
   4. He seats us... in Christ Jesus
      "But this man (Jesus Christ), after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God." Hebrews 10:12
3. The Purpose of God in Saving Us... (v. 7)
   That in the ages to come He might show us:
   1. The exceeding riches of grace . . .
   2. The wonderful kindness He has toward us . . .
   3. That all we have is in and through Christ Jesus.
